Larry received his Bachelor
of Arts from the University of Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South
Africa in 1985. He went on to study law and received his Bachelor
of Laws in 1987. Larry subsequently completed his articles and was
duly admitted as an Attorney of the Supreme Court of South Africa
in 1989. Later that same year, Larry emigrated to New Zealand and,
after completing all of his relicensing requirements, he was called
to the Bar in New Zealand in 1992. In late 1993, Larry left New
Zealand for Canada and he was subsequently called to the Bar in
the Province of Ontario in 1996 and has been a member of the Law
Society of Upper Canada since then.
Larry has been exposed to all
aspects of Canadian immigration and citizenship laws since 1993,
and he has practiced exclusively in this area since 1996. Larry
has been an Associate at Guberman Garson Bush since 2000 and provides
legal representation to some of the firm’s most significant
and prominent multinational corporate and institutional clients,
as well as to smaller corporate and individual clients, including
PricewaterhouseCoopers, George Weston Limited, Sun Microsystems
of Canada, IKEA Canada, Kinectrics, Unisys, Lloyd’s Register
Quality Assurance, the University of Toronto and its formally affiliated
teaching hospitals, The Hospital for Sick Children and the University
Health Network.
In the provision of his services,
Larry takes responsibility to lead the firm’s clients on an
ongoing and proactive basis in matters pertaining to the cross-border
transfer of their executive, managerial, professional and other
key personnel to companies involved in business ventures in Canada.
With such representation, Larry deals regularly and routinely with
the numerous Canadian immigration offices located at the ports of
entry straddling the Canadian - U.S. border. This is in addition
to Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s domestic Case Processing
Centres and Canada Immigration Centres as well as with many of the
Canadian Consulate Generals, Embassies and High Commissions worldwide.
Larry currently lives in the
suburbs of Toronto with his wife and two children.
